You’ll also learn how to tell the time using phrases like o’clock, quarter past, and half past, along with time-related prepositions such as at and in the morning. This unit will help you describe your weekly schedule using the days of the week and adverbs of frequency like always, never, and sometimes. You’ll also ask and answer questions about time using question phrases like When? and What time?, along with yes/no and Wh- questions in the Present Simple tense.

Unit 4: At Home

You’ll also practice using prepositions of place such as next to, under, and in front of to describe the position of objects. Later, you will explore common household items like lamp, mirror, and rug, while learning how to use the articles a, an, and the correctly, along with basic quantifiers like some and any. By the end of this unit, you’ll be able to describe a room clearly and ask or answer questions about what is in a space and where it is.

Then, you’ll explore useful drink vocabulary and basic restaurant phrases while practicing how to use some, any, and a lot of to describe quantities. In real-life contexts like eating out, you'll learn polite phrases such as Can I have…? and Would you like…? to make requests and offers. Finally, you’ll express your preferences using like and don’t like, both with nouns and -ing verbs, helping you describe your favorite (and least favorite) foods and meals with confidence.
